Hot Chocolate

Make-ahead hot chocolate cups are kept in the freezer ready for your next craving of a rich tasting, but better-for-you, mug of minty hot chocolate.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Equipment: 10 (3 oz.) plastic or paper cups 10 plastic spoons
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 10 servings


  • 1 (3.5 oz.) bar dark chocolate 85% Cocoa
  • 100 miniature marshmallows
  • 2-1/2 cups Blue Bunny White Mint Chocolate Chunk Frozen Yogurt, slightly softened


Place 10 marshmallows into bottom of each cup.
Break chocolate into squares and place in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring after each time until smooth and melted. Chocolate will not melt completely without stirring. Do not over cook. Pour 1-1/2 teaspoons chocolate onto marshmallows in each cup.
1/4 cup frozen yogurt. Insert a spoon into each cup. Freeze overnight or until solid.

To serve: Pour 2/3 cup fat-free milk into a 10 or 12 ounce microwave-safe mug. Hold plastic cup of hot chocolate mixture in hands to soften slightly then remove with spoon and place in mug of milk. If paper cups were used, use a scissors to cut cup through the bottom of the cup and peel off before adding to mug of milk. Place mug in microwave and heat on High until hot, stirring several times, until chocolate-frozen yogurt mixture is melted, about 1-1/2 minutes in an 1100 watt microwave.*
*Cooking time varies with each microwave, adjust timing accordingly.
