Wells Enterprises, Inc. currently has opening for a Continuous Improvement Specialist for the South Ice Cream Plant in LeMars, IA. Effectively manage project/activities. Establish clear charter. (i.e., goals, objectives, scope, resources required, etc). Efficiently organize resources & activities to fulfill charter. Focus teams on critical vs. trivial factors. Bring creative & viable ideas of others to the organization. Establish key measures to track results over time. Lead improvement projects (e.g., DOE) and activities (e.g., kaizen event) each year that deliver sustained, year-over-year, minimum savings of 3X compensation (i.e., salary, bonus, benefits) Build organizational CI capability by transferring CI knowledge to others through hands on coaching during projects/activities and by mentoring others on a one-on-one basis (e.g., CI associates) Use analytical tools & problem solving techniques to identify root-causes of waste quantify improvement potential, prioritize opportunities and develop improvement solutions across all areas of Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery (SQDC) EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science (preferably in a technical field, e.g., engineering) or comparable professional experience EXPERIENCE: 5 years minimum in a plant setting (prefer at least 2 years supervisory experience) 3 years minimum in a CI type role with demonstrated success applying CI tools/techniques (e.g., Lean, 6 Sigma, TPM) at the shop floor level (preferably in a process industry) AA/EEO-M/F/D/V

Wells Enterprises, Inc. currently has a Continuous Improvement Manager opportunity at our state-of-the art Freezer in Le Mars, Iowa. This position is responsible for developing and executing in partnership with Distribution Manager an effective CI strategy within the manufacturing or distribution facility, or key supply chain business area to support the organizations' efforts to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Key Responsibilities Include: *Lead Operations and Supply Chain CI and operational resources including training and development plans around CI tools, strategies, and techniques. *Coach and challenge Operations and Supply Chain leadership and hourly employees on the fundamentals of CI and build problem solving capabilities throughout the Operations organization. *Ensure Operations-SC leadership and CI resources within assigned facility (direct reports), deliver a minimum, run-rate, sustained savings each year. *Work closely with Manufacturing Managers, Operations Managers, Quality Manager and other facility leaders to identify best practices, stretch objectives, and challenge how the facility is operated with the objective of achieving Operational Excellence. *Ensure proper communication methods are utilized to create a shared CI mindset across the facility/department and reinforce basic CI principles, highlight Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) versus goals, share best practices and celebrate individual/team successes. *Lead improvement projects and/or activities each year that deliver sustained, run-rate savings of 3X annual compensation (i.e. salary, bonus, benefits). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities *Expert in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Blackbelt and/or TOC Jonah *Effective problem solver *Strong communicator (oral & written) *Advanced operations analysis capability (labor, equipment, capacity, etc) *Positively influence and motivate others *Effective coach/mentor to others *Capable of building effective teams Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science degree (preferably in a technical field, i.e. Engineering), MBA preferred or commensurate business experience.
